Deportivo was first started when a guy named Jose Maria Abalo built the soccer club in Coruna area, the current home of Deportivo. It was officially established in 1906 and has a history of almost 100 years. But despite the long history of the club, it has never won a single Primera Liga championship until they finally won one in 99-00 season. They also won 2 Spanish Cups in 2000 and 2002, so Deportivo is a team that started to play very well recently. The team is mostly consisted of their national products including Tristan, Romero, and Valeron who played key roles for Spain in '02 FIFA WC.
